Are You Kidding?? YES I have a DOZEN ideal scenarios in which Minty becomes canon without Bryan dying. Because, for the LOVE of GOD! STOP KILLING PEOPLE!!!!!! Also I think it would be so great for two people who were romantically involved to end things on a positive good note and still be friends. WHAT A MESSAGE!!! anyway here are some Minty Alternatives 

• After the war is over and Miller and Bryan finally have a chance to talk, Miller tells him all the details of the early days. Of torturing Grounders, of killing Mountain Men with his bare hands, of struggling to survive. And they accept that they’re different. That they’ve done different things to survive and they’re different people than who they were when they met on the Ark. 
  
• Miller (or even Bryan) admits that while they still love the other, that they have feelings for someone else and don’t want to be disloyal. But the feelings are strong (bc Monty is a qt) and staying together doesn’t feel right either. 
• Miller does a Stupidly Heroic Thing to save Monty and Bryan witnesses it (or really, he can witness any stupid thing Miller does in front of Monty) and is later like, “Babe, I think you’re into Monty.” And Miller’s like “what? No I’m not.” And Bryan’s like, “No, you totally are. And it’s okay.” 
• Once a peace with the Grounders is formally established, a crap ton of Sky People want to travel and explore. Bryan is set on staying where he is, considering they never had a stable place to be before when Agro Station landed, but Miller wants to travel, so they part ways. 
• They decide they’re better off as friends. The spark is gone, the war is over, and they’re both so tired. Simple as that.
